I had a lady pull the “I’m best friends with the owner” card when I was hostessing. She insisted since she and the owner were good family friends she didn’t have to wait for a table on Mother’s Day. I really enjoyed letting her know that the owners are my parents and I had never seen her before. I offered to grab my dad and suddenly she remembered she had made a reservation elsewhere. It was such a pity she couldn’t stay.
