@.justicefromdayone: Too many workers are pressured to work extra hours without pay — through lunch breaks, after hours, or under the excuse that it’s “part of the job.” But South African labour law is clear: overtime must be paid at 1.5x your normal rate, and no one can “volunteer” unpaid hours. Learn how to protect yourself and your colleagues. Fair pay for every hour worked. This content is for education only. I am not a labour lawyer. There is no legal requirements to pay you more than your basic rate for overtime. Royal Mail being an example. Overtime payed less than hourly rate and even less once you've done more than 10 hours.

In the UK, there is no legal right to be paid 1.5 times (time and a half) your normal wage for overtime. Overtime pay rates are voluntary and determined by your employment contract. The only legal requirement is that your average pay for all hours worked does not fall below the National Minimum Wage.
