By looking at this shot of Msimbazi street of Kariakoo, what is the main course of traffic in Kariakoo that they even disrupt BRT system operations? From the video. Msimbazi street doesn't have many cars compared to other roads of Dar es salaam. But this road has more tuktuks and motorbikes than anywhere else in Dar Es salaam City. If they ban tuktuks that are parking everywhere confidently to pick passengers, traffic can at least be solved. Tuktuks can be relocated to other roads like Lukoma or jangwani street and later when the BRT system towards Kimara will be stable ( I see they have added new 100 buses), they can ban tuktuks and bodabodas from accessing the City center and Kariakoo ( people will say "they have families and they have employed themselves"tuktuks and bodabodas can still operate in neighborhoods that don't have daladala, there is no modern city in this world that has allowed tuktuks to operate in the city centre, even our neighbors Nairobi, tuktuks just operate on the Outskirts not on the highways or city centre). Leave out hawkers that are being misplaced, tuktuks and bodabodas parking on the highways are a major cause of traffic along Msimbazi street and other streets of Kariakoo.
