@spicymombrain: Trying to plan out our garden and I’m curious where everyone gets their seeds from. Local stores? Online? Favorite companies? #gardening #homesteadlife #gardenplanning

I look for local seed companies, they usually have varieties that are specialized for your climate! Do a google search for companies in your state or region

Pine tree seeds is my absolute favorite. They have a wide variety. They are fairly inexpensive. I also buy from Johnny’s I think they’re really more for commercial growers but they sell smaller packs too. My absolute hands-down favorite tomato comes from them. It’s called a current tomato, sweet pea. My Mom orders from catalog called totally tomatoes that might be where you need to look. They have all kinds of different tomatoes.

I made a video about this but it’s kinda far down on my page! I’m in zone 6b and I usually go with MIgardner, gurneys, burpees, seeds n such and Johnny seeds!

The garden, last year. Try it out. Green beans mom and dad have been growing since before my time. Tomatoes from a man’s work buddy that he got back in the 70s. Peppers of variety from the discount rack at Drug Mart when I was starting my first solo garden. Potatoes leftover from last season. Everything is a new generation from my last. Or gifted ones. I was gifted a new pepper from a place called Gurneys. 9/10 on sprouting and transplant.
