My theory is that, the matrix didn’t really choose Elita, but because of how much she criticized Optimus or Orion now since he isn’t a prime now, the matrix only chose her to teach her some type of lesson. Like seeing if she could really handle being a Prime and go through the same things Orion went through. Maybe if she sees how hard it is to be a prime, and seeing how wrong she was, she would maybe then try to give the matrix back to Orion. But idk, just my theory
