@kevin.clancy: Influencer Jake Shane getting crushed online for his live stream coverage at the Oscars. Jake has had a METEROIC rise to fame on the internet and has been everywhere at all the major events with all the A-list stars. So the Oscars hired him to do a digital live stream, and now people are mad that an internet influencer was on the red carpet and not a journalist. But, the whole point was to do an alternative, internet stream for that demographic!! Now, I don’t think Jake’s performance was the best, but people are killing him like he was on a Channel 7 ABC and not a live stream. I understand the Oscars has a certain expectation and is a higher level product, but the whole point of those Internet second screen broadcasts are to get more casual and less stuffy. Again, sure he could have done a better job, but this is the type of criticism Barstool used to get for sports coverage and at the end of the day that worked out pretty well for everyone
