@raveresidence: Released in 1986, “Move Your Body” by Marshall Jefferson became one of the most influential records ever made in house music. Nicknamed “The House Music Anthem,” the track played a major role in shaping the sound of Chicago’s early house movement. It’s also widely recognized as the first house record to prominently feature a piano — a sound that would later become one of the genre’s defining elements. The unforgettable vocals were performed by Jefferson’s friend Curtis McClain, whom he met while working overnight shifts at the post office. Jefferson originally recorded the piano and bass parts at a slower pace, then sped the track up to around 122 BPM, giving it the distinctive groove that DJs and dancers fell in love with. Almost 40 years later, the record still fills dancefloors around the world. In 2025, Billboard even ranked it the No. 1 house song of all time, cementing its legacy in electronic music history. via: TV One #housemusic #housemusicforever #housemusicfamily
