@tylerpath: Leg extension is one of the most common quad exercises; however there's a little bit more to it than just sitting down and cranking away the reps. Here are three cues that will help you get an overall better stimulus for the quads when you do leg extensions: 1) Adjust the seat so that your knee naturally lines up with the axis of rotation. That is that circular nub where the foot pad generally rotates from. 2) Adjust the foot pad So that your knees are bent to at least 90 degrees 3) pull yourself into the seat for more stability.
