bro noOoOoOooOOO... you have to take this back to the studs and completely restart from there. there is probably a lot of rotten structural elements in there and insulation is completely caput and trust me you'll need that for a comfortable home. eat the cost and do it right you're already in positive equity just after the clean up so don't worry

I would be p*ssed if I purchased a house, not knowing that what’s behind the dry wall in this video was there… That is how behind the walls in my home looks now, with zero insulation. You can hear what’s going on in others rooms. You can literally hear whenever someone is making a bowel movement… I can literally stand in the basement and hear talking coming from the attic 😂. Sound proofing/insulation can be so important, but of course saving money will heavily prevail.

I'm so glad you're trying to keep the style of the house as much as possible. I would only suggest, moving forward, remove the lathe and update the insulation especially on the outside walls.

Older homes are almost always worth fixing up. I would trust your home that you renovate over the new homes that are being built now because of how terribly built they are.
