You need to give ppl a heads up on how expensive it is to frame things. It can be a huge shock. 😳 You will end up spending more money on your framing than on your poster. But it’s worth it. 😉

My mum bought prints from the Tate Modern in the early 80s and framed them in thin chrome frames. I have them now and can confirm it is a moment.

to celebrate buying my first home with my husband I bought this beautiful print as we bought the house in the year of the horse. however, because i wasnt sure where I wanted it, I bought it in her medium size which is smaller than poster size. :/ And now I dont know how to frame it. I dont want the frame or a lot of mat to take away from the piece. but I dont want to make it a part of a gallery wall. I want her to stand on her own on a wall. what would be your suggestion? :)

#1 Get your frames from second hand stores. Ignore the art, just look at the frames. #2 Always carry a measuring tape with you and know the measurements of the art you wish to frame. #3 For more modern pieces - check out Homesense/Winners/Marshall's for frames. Again- dont skip the ones with art. Best place to find multiple of same frame to add cohesion to different pieces.

So what’s funny is I make art.. went to school for it and finally getting back into it as I’m chronically sick and have some time…I keep making art I don’t like whereas I feel like I shouk be looking at art I like and making something I personally want to hang up vs making it so much about the process
