@dr.norellahcancook: ‼️📚🍳 Welcome back to 10 Common Kitchen Injuries 🔥 Episode 2: Knife Cuts 🔪😬 Knife cuts is painful erh, what I even hate most is the mark it leaves on your skin😭 ✨ What to do immediately (NO PANIC): 🩸 Apply firm pressure with a clean cloth or gauze (very important!) ⬆️ Raise the hand above heart level if you can 💧 Rinse with clean running water (once bleeding slows) 🧼 Clean around (not inside) the wound 🩹 Cover with sterile dressing or plaster 🚫 Please avoid: – Pouring salt 😭 (who started this??) – Toothpaste, powder, herbs – Touching the wound anyhow ⚠️ Go to the hospital if: – Bleeding doesn’t stop after 10 minutes of pressure – The cut is deep/gaping – You see fat or bone – Loss of movement or sensation – It was caused by a dirty/rusty knife ✂️ If there is finger amputation (this is URGENT): Stay calm — time is tissue! 1️⃣ Apply pressure to the stump to stop bleeding 2️⃣ Wrap the amputated part in clean moist gauze (saline if available, or clean water) 3️⃣ Put it in a waterproof bag 4️⃣ Place that bag inside another bag/container with ice + water (NOT directly on ice ❌) 5️⃣ Get to the hospital IMMEDIATELY (ideally within hours) 🔥 Prevention (Don’t ignore this 😌): – Use sharp knives (blunt knives are more dangerous!) – Always cut away from your body – Keep fingers tucked in (chef’s claw 🐾) – Don’t rush or “vibe cut” while gist is sweet 😭 – Use a stable cutting board 👩🏽🍳 It’s your responsibility to be safe, don’t ever forget that😉 Next class drops soon 👀 don’t be absent! #fypシ゚ #KitchenHacks #kitchensafety #ghanafood #knifecut
