My beta electrocuted himself in his filter while I was on vacay ☹️☹️I had him for like a year tho it was my first fish and my first pet I took care of entirely on my own I was so sad

most likely has fin damage, and possibly early fin rot. It might also be stress from a tank change also

also if it seems like he was doing better in the smaller it could be due to his fin length, my half moon excelled in a 3.5 gallon but struggled in a 7.5- the longer their fins are the more stress/damage it puts on them as they swim!

If he seems to struggle with swimming lessen the flow of water. Or if he’s swimming side ways or vertical that probably means he has swim bladder issues

Never keep plastic plants in the water, is tears their fins! Only ever get real things.

Noa w/ fins🐠🌺 :
Also that plant that spirals out isn’t meant to be fully aquatic it is supposed to only have its roots in the tank and will start rotting and mess with water quality over time this could be what caused the fin rot
