@picklefeatherz: Guess who was sick, bored and decided to make an animation? Me! I know I'm late to this trend but I heard this audio and thought of Astarion instantly. I don't hate ascended Astarion, I like ascended Astarion. Before you grab your pitchforks and torches, no, it's not in the sense of "oh he's hotter ascended" it's more of the fact that he fascinates me. (Note: I still prefer spawn Astarion as his canon ending) AA interests me because he is a good example of character regression. His whole story is to become his own person, to escape the man who has the most power over him, even if it means to never see the sun again. If you let him Ascend, he becomes the man he tries to escape, not being able to move on from the last 200 years. the caption is SO REAL! I feel like ascended astarion makes such a good character because it's a realistic show that victims do often fall into the cycle repetition. astarion spawn will always be my fav but ascended is still well written.

I adore every version of Astarion- his spawn ending is my canon, but I love how his ascended version is written and that side of him as a character interests me all the same. It’s a more tragic end I feel. 💔
