@krystaltoddcpa: I’ve been thinking about my role in accounting and how I’ve heard the same script at my last five jobs.. blah blah blah “the budget” it can be exhausting putting the hours we put in, just to get told great job, here’s more work and by the way, don’t get too excited about your pay, it’s not changing by much. #accounting #accountinglife #9to5 #9to5
That’s so sad cause that’s the backbone of any organization

Revenue generating jobs have their own issues such as utilization and having to find new clients/jobs

Definitely job hopping! But also consulting work. 9-5 accounting role + side clients is 🔑

The funny thing is finance/accounting gets blamed for everything …. Soooo if we’re gonna be accountable for everything we sure as shit should be paid more than just about everyone

I’ve found job hopping helps increase my salary by a lot but I’m missing out on having enough PTO days to take trips and not vested for matching 401k money.

Accounting doesn’t make money, it saves money by keeping the company in compliance with federal, state and industry laws and regulations.

You lost me 5 seconds in. Finance, Accounting and Engineering all are top 10% income earnings at normal companies. Sales make a lot, but that is a grind and can be a lot travel

Two jobs ago my boss made double my salary, I wanted to recommend him for a position at my current job and he told me his current salary and expectation and I am proud to say I now make more than him by almost 30% 🥰 so proud of me for job hopping

I don't disagree but as someone in finance, if the department is lean enough you become a very critical function. You just need to make sure that you're joining an organization where the finance department isn't overstaffed.
