I meant to say Fantastic Four made barely DOUBLE of Weapons - not half. Very big difference

Baffles me how they fumbled so hard after Endgame. All they had to do is take the next couple years off, create an overarching plot for the next phase, and go from there. There was zero plan and it showed

as a lifelong MCU fan the over reliance on nostalgia is really confusing tbh, to me their best(mainline MCU) projects over the last 3 years have been Wonderman, ironheart and Agatha, all of which are pretty big swings for the franchise but I believe are creative(if not economic) home runs. in the long run I think quality will always matter more than nostalgia

Yeah, Spider-Man is always going to be a draw, it doesn't necessarily mean the MCU is getting their mojo back.

spiderman is bigger than the mcu, people follow Peter's story more than really engaging with the circus around the mcu tbh. like I couldnt care less about the mcu these days I just like spiderman like always so I will follow whatever of that is out

I don’t think Marvel is back. I think Spider-Man specifically never went away. No Way Home was a huge success despite coming after when most people would say Marvel “fell off.”

I hope Marvel stops doing this thing they’ve been doing where they only put real effort into every 4th project they put out

the problem with mcu is that it cant leave the past behind. phase 4 did a solid job with introducing new characters the problem was that marvel had no faith in them and giving them no time in the spotlight. im still waiting for shang chi 2 lol

I feel like Spider-Man is not a good indicator of MCU being back (coming from an MCU fan). Those movies have always performed well.

I would also argue with Deadpool and Wolverine that you really only needed to see the first two to enjoy the movie as a whole. With the MCU there’s just too much content in too many different places it’s impossible to keep up. Plus when the entire universe is supposed to be connected, tone shifts are very jarring and off putting (like WandaVision to MoM). And if a story line or character is just going to be dropped with no warning, what’s the point in trying to keep up in the first place?

All the Disney+ shows that became a prerequisite to mcu theater releases made it extremely hard to keep up. I shouldn't have to be up to date with four limited series to understand everything in the newest marvel movie. They introduced new characters in the shows and gave them the necessary backstory, but if you weren't a serious marvel fan willing to commit to watching all of that material it didn't have the same impact in the theaters

MCU resurgence to be honest will be their take on the X Men , when the X Men come to screen thats when we will know whats really going on cause Spider-Man will always be fine.
