@toppawk9s: You’re not just wasting your money, you’re wasting your dog’s time and mine too. The small details aren’t optional, they matter just as much as the actual training. • • Dogs learn through association, timing, and repetition. Every outcome your dog experiences is tied to what happened in that exact moment, not what you meant, not what you planned, but what was actually consistent. For a behavior to become reliable, the input has to stay the same. Same tool placement. Same pressure. Same timing. Same follow-through. When those variables change, the picture changes. If the tool is used one way sometimes and a different way other times, the dog cannot form a clear association. Instead of learning a behavior, the dog learns patterns of inconsistency. Reliability comes from predictability. The dog needs to know, with clarity, what each action means and what outcome follows. If that clarity isn’t there, learning doesn’t stabilize, it resets. That’s why every single time matters- because to the dog, it’s not “one small mistake.” It’s a completely different experience. • #dogtrainer #DogTraining #dogownertips #dogowners #dogtrainingtips

What makes a slip lead the correct kind? What should you not get? How do you use it correctly?
