Being elected from the St. Thomas St. John District does not mean I should stay silent when the welfare of the people of St. Croix is involved. I support housing for all of the Virgin Islands, and I completely support the Beeston Hill housing project with real guardrails in place. But let us be honest with the public. R3 zoning is not limited to housing only. Under Virgin Islands zoning law, R3 can allow other uses depending on what is approved, which is exactly why clear restrictions matter. If this project is truly about housing, then that must be written plainly into the law and locked in with protections. The people deserve transparency, honesty, and no confusion.
