The didn’t sedate you? I’m having one done but they are saying it will be conscious sedation. When I heard Fent— would be given I panicked and now worried I hate any type of meds that strong.

Just had one done under local anesthesia - went alone, not medicated, it really was horrendous!! I couldn’t stop crying or shaking for 10 minutes straight after. Glad it’s over omg.

damn i just had this done in australia and they told me all of this! they also didnt even ask if I wanted sedation or anaesthetic, they just did it for me lol

Great… might need this done and gave birth to four kids without epidural because the thought of a needle in my back freaked me out.. already watched videos with the drills 😭

I had it done a few days ago. Pay attention to the instructions they give you before the procedure. Personally, I didn't find it painful. They gave me a sedative and pain medication during the procedure through and IV and I was fine. I was told not to shower six hours after and not to get into tubs, hot tubs, pools for three days. I was very scared of having this done after watching all these videos on tik tok, but honestly it was nothing like the videos mentioned.

It’s not spinal fluid. It’s fluid from the bone marrow which resembles blood.

I had it done today and my doctor told me all of this and walk through it before and during the procedure it was not painful just a weird feeling I was fine without any medication it do feel sore and weird pain since the numbness wore off

I’m UK had it done this afternoon, no sedation offered, just local anaesthetic which I find useless in this instance, hope I never have to go through it again.

They don’t take spinal fluid , they take bone marrow from your pelvic bone. I went by my self drove there and black, no issue . Just had LA, yes it bloody hurt for about 60 seconds but no need for any more meds apart from paracetamol later in the day

When you say medicated, are you meaning like pain meds or 🍃? I have a prescription for both and so just seeing if those are safe, if you or anyone else knows?
