Tilt your pelvis prior to the movement, and then intentionally squeeze your core to hold that position and do the movement slowly until you inevitably break form, and I swear eventually you will be able to do it without rib flare or anterior pelvic tilt.

Don’t go the full range of motion until you build the strength. But like many said here, engage your lower core and prioritize keeping your back on the floor better you start the movement. And move slower.

Engage your core. Push it down into the ground. Mind muscle connection takes some practice lol

Try squeezing a Pilates ball between your thighs while doing this! Will help to keep your entire core engaged!

I would also, start without a weight, and focus on the form of it before adding. Also maybe having your legs angled a little higher till your back touches and then go from there

Squeeze your cheeks. And instead of your legs going straight out lift them up until you’re able to push your belly button to the ground. Short story, keep your hips tucked under. It’ll help with the gap and scooting - a former gymnast

Someone said to me act like you are trying to touch your ribs to your hips and that worked for me.

Do it on a bench, go slow and start with only the arm movement, training your back to stay down. Then add the legs but instead of rocking them back and forth, extend them out and slide them up to crunch in.

Blanco bandito :
really focus on pushing your back to the floor, do not suck in your stomach, think more like filling it w/ air and pushing ribs down. You may not be able to get as much range of motion in the beginning, but form is more important and as your core strength increases you’ll be able to get more range of motion.

I have lumbar lordosis and it is almost impossible for me to get my back to lay flat on the ground so my form is always wrong for these types of exercises. You could have something similar

You have to realllllly engaged your core and move slow. Get the form first pressing your core down, go super slowly and just constantly check that your back is still flat, also start form with legs bent it helps

lay a dumbbell horizontally across your abdomen to keep your core engaged! when the dumbbell sinks, it means your core isnt engaged = lifted back! think belly button to the floor!🤍

Activate your core. Think like you’re bringing your ribs down towards your back rather than just sucking in your stomach. How your stomach feels when you’re laughing is how this will feel.
