it's not disrespectful, what would be disrespectful is IF you blame the host for not providing the candy your kids can eat, which you didn't. Honestly, if anything, you're being very respectful and a very responsible parent

Teacher/mom here! My son has adhd.. red 40 makes him go crazy! He’s not allowed to have red candy or drinks! Also, I have students in my classroom whose parents have provided dye free candy for their children since I have treasure box with candy as classroom rewards. Definitely not disrespectful! You’re an awesome mama!

I don’t expect others to accommodate our choices. We have brought our own cupcakes or cake pops to parties. Or I make trades after. My daughter is older though. At Halloween we do the switch witch.

To be honest… if i knew i have a kid coming to one of are party and it cant have something.. no matter what lactose, red40, gluten… i would allways organize at least one alternative … 🤷♀️
