it actually helped me when i had my nails done. because the nails were not sharp enough i couldn't pick my skin. but once i stopped getting my nails done i immediatly started skin picking

I do the same thing .Something that helps me is carrying a nail clipper in my backpack or purse. If I start picking and create loose skin, I clip it so I’m less tempted to keep picking at it. I also put Band-Aids on the fingers I pick at, especially when I have a test or something stressful, to prevent me from picking. I’ll also put lotion on so my skin doesn’t get dry or rough, because that usually makes me want to pick more. I also carry a little fidget with me. It might not work for everyone, but it’s helped me some, even though I still pick sometimes.

I started getting acrylic nails done and haven’t been able to break the skin since because they’re so thick so I’ve subconsciously stopped picking!!!
