The human genome project was crazy to learn about!! They spent 3 BILLION dollars fully sequencing our DNA and it took the 13 years (1990-2003), now anyone can just get 23&Me results in days 🤯

It’s always mind blowing to me how many THOUSANDS of years of learning and experimenting we just take for granted now. Like less than 75 years ago we didn’t know exactly what DNA was and now it’s information that’s in section 1.1 in a elementary science class

I’ve always thought that the changes for my grandparents were more obvious. They had coal and ice delivered to their homes and no cars and airplanes and 45 years later, in WWII, there were tanks and long range bombers. The changes in my lifetime were more subtle, but just as substantial, such as computers, health care and scientific discoveries such as DNA. 🧬

DNA is like a code so once they cracked the code of being able to see all the billions of pairs of G, A, T, and C in the DNA, they could start discovering things. It’s probably gonna bring a lot more discoveries in the future, since there is such an absolutely massive amount of information to decode and study

Rocketry was a hobby from the 1880’s which was then greatly advanced during world war 2 by the Germans since rocketry wasn’t considered a weapon at the time. Then it was further developed when those German scientists came to America. So it was more like 90 years. NOTHING just spontaneously happened in just 60 years. Same with genetics. You’re missing a LOT of information
