After receiving your messages, concerns, and appeals regarding the challenges being faced by Zimbabweans returning home, I felt compelled to take your concerns directly to our listening and compassionate leader, His Excellency President Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa. I am pleased to advise that the relevant Minister has acknowledged the importance and urgency of this matter and has committed to looking into the situation and supporting our young people affected in South Africa. I presented your appeal that returning Zimbabweans be allowed to bring their personal property and household goods so they can rebuild their lives with dignity, rather than arriving home empty-handed after years of hard work abroad. Many of our citizens have furniture, household belongings, and other essential possessions but face challenges due to duties and related costs at our borders. As a Government that puts people first, we must continue to explore practical solutions that ease their return and support their reintegration into our communities. As the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, we stand ready to welcome and support all returning young Zimbabweans. Through various empowerment initiatives, skills development programmes, vocational training opportunities, and entrepreneurship support schemes, we are committed to assisting them in their respective fields of expertise so that they can productively contribute to the growth and development of our nation. Our citizens remain our greatest asset wherever they may be, and their welfare will always be a priority. We will continue engaging the relevant authorities in pursuit of solutions that promote dignity, empowerment, and economic recovery for our returning compatriots. Once again, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and the entire team for their swift intervention and efforts in facilitating transport assistance for our young people in South Africa. Your commitment to the welfare of Zimbabwean citizens abroad reflects the spirit of a caring and responsive Government that leaves no one behind. To our brothers and sisters returning home, Zimbabwe welcomes you. Your skills, experience, resilience, and contributions remain invaluable to our nation’s development. Together, we will build, empower, and create opportunities for a brighter future for all. Thank you Shumba … #LeavingNoOneBehind
