TDS does not tell how safe water is to drink. It literally just tells you how many total dissolved solids are in the water. You could have a TDS rating of over 1000 but the water safe to drink. You could have a TDS rating of one, but the water is entirely unsafe to drink because it’s got E. coli in it.
