@nickostark: Ogoh-Ogoh, the night before Bali goes silent 🔥 I didn’t know about this when I was planning my birthday trip to Indonesia, so witnessing it felt really special. 📍Ubud, Bali, Indonesia Ogoh-Ogoh happens the night before Nyepi. Each community builds these huge statues representing negative energy, then parades them through the streets. It’s chaotic, loud, and full of energy, but also very meaningful. At the end, many are burned to symbolize letting go of negativity. It’s something a lot of tourists don’t know about Bali including me before this trip. I really admire how they keep their traditions alive. Today (March 19) is Nyepi, the Balinese New Year. For 24 hours, the entire island pauses. No flights, no cars, no noise, no going outside. While most places celebrate the New Year loudly, Bali welcomes it in silence. 📍Ubud, Bali, Indonesia

Đây là phong tục của người dân đảo Bali. Những hình nộm tượng trưng cho những con quỷ trong truyền thuyết dân gian của họ. Họ làm ra "một ngày" đưa rước những hình nộm này để tập hợp năng lượng xấu/ác linh càng nhiều càng tốt trong ngày, tới nửa đêm sẽ đốt sạch tượng trưng cho việc xua đuổi/tiêu diệt quỷ dữ. Sáng hôm sau, toàn bộ hòn đảo sẽ đón cái "tết im lặng", tất cả người dân lẫn khách du lịch đều không được ra ngoài vì người dân tin rằng làm như thế sẽ tránh được tàn dư của ma quỷ đêm qua trở về hại họ
