@abbeyheffer: I'm really sorry @paper republic , it feels as though the world (my cat) wants to keep you secret, keep you safe. Cat issues aside, the Grand Voyager weekly planner has become a staple in my research process. I've always kept an (academic) journal, it's the only way to keep myself consistently accountable and to keep track of everything I've read along the way throughout my nearly four-year PhD journey. The advantage of the Grand Voyager portfolio is that I can keep all my messy notes safe alongside both my planner and my "less messy" write-up notebook. Writing by hand is also a really important part of the research to output pipeline for me. I very much agree with @Dr. Awa when she says writing/rewriting is a really good way to really process and actually use what you read (if you're not following her yet, you absolutely should be). #researcher #weeklyplanner #creatorsearchinsights
I love your content🥰it's so useful. As far as I know it's important for the algorithm that comments have 9 words👍🏻

I've been an academic for 12 years now. I've tried all kinds of notebooks and electronic notes a d lists and nothing has ever worked for me! I forget where I've put stuff. So far the only thing that works well and consistently is scheduling a block of time on my calendar to write and sticking to that time--oh and color removable sticky tabs for books. 😅

If you've made it to the comment section, please leave some moral support... Something related to research or reading or thought processing more generally. I don't do product reviews often but, when I do, it's only ever tools I find genuinely useful. If you're working in knowledge production in any way, shape or form, I'd highly recommend a weekly planner. And a portfolio for keep that planner alongside loose sheets (loose thoughts..).

I love having a physical planner. I have most of mine since high school & they are much more like journals. Tho I often jot things regular to the moment in abbreviations then later am perplexed by what appears to be a code of random letters I can no longer decipher 🤣

As long as there's a cat, you'll always reappear on cat tok. Cat tok is huge. Huge

I personally have a canine overlord, and yes, the wee fur children can definitely impede the studying process
allegedly the human children require even more attention but I don't see how that could be possible

This note book seems nice, at least the bits that the cat overlord allowed us to see.

the journal does look really classy. I've always liked the look of notebooks like that but can't really justify it to myself.
Tell you what would be a bit nice, opening the front cover to find a tablet holder. that being followed by the paper pad to scribble notes on.

every time you pop up on my fyp, you remind me that I really must get back to my own studies! I keep putting it off, doom scrolling 😭 I don't really have any tips unfortunately, but i think, for me at least, not putting too much pressure on yourself is helpful. trying to force yourself into doing something isn't always productive. my concentration is poor when I'm not in the right frame of mind and I end up getting very little done, if anything at all.
