Family is our base. If you don’t have a very strong family connection, it’s either to get lost in life somehow in some point, and to find yourself in this world will be hard. Yea, we stay with our family, not because it’s expensive only, but we learn that we don’t need to live away from your family until you find yourself own family or get enough money to get your own place. I love our culture. You always have family system to help

We come home to eat because it's expensive to eat out every day... We live at home for a long time because it's expensive to live alone... We go to school for halfday because there are not enough schools for everyone, so they have to double capacity in the same building, and private schools are a big business, so they want to make more money.... All of these have very little to do with family...

You’re right. My son is 20 and at uni and people are often surprised that he still lives at home and that I don’t charge him anything. There’s this idea that once you turn 18 you should be on your own or you’ll become irresponsible. Also I grew up going to my grandma’s after school, and my mum would come home for lunch before heading back to work. Those routines meant family time, support, and connectionand but that is changing too sadly. My mum used to come to the UK for the summer holidays to look after my kids. Family is so important for us. ✨

18 anos são bebês ainda, se virar financeiramente nessa idade é muito difícil. Não vejo problema em ficar com os pais até quando estiver financeiramente estável. Só não dá pra ficar encostado sem fazer nada na casa dos pais.

This is so true, I lived in the uk for 12 years and I couldn’t believe how distant most of my friends were from their families, how rarely they would visit their grandparents, it’s so sad 😢
