A suspected female pickpocket was apprehended by police on London’s busy Oxford Street after officers discovered she was carrying 28 stolen mobile phones, authorities have confirmed. The incident unfolded during a routine patrol in one of the capital’s busiest shopping districts, an area well known for its heavy foot traffic and frequent reports of petty theft. Officers became suspicious after noticing the woman behaving erratically among crowds of shoppers and tourists. According to police, the suspect appeared to be closely following pedestrians and repeatedly reaching toward bags and pockets. Acting on their observations, officers approached and detained her for questioning. A subsequent search revealed a large number of mobile phones concealed in her clothing and a backpack. In total, 28 devices were recovered, many of which are believed to have been stolen within a short span of time along Oxford Street and nearby areas. Police stated that several of the phones had already been reported missing, while others are currently being traced to identify their rightful owners. Authorities are urging anyone who recently lost a phone in the area to come forward. #OxfordStreet #LondonCrime #Pickpocket #MetPolice #CrimeNews - @london_content_media
