@zarascookiejar: When someone sexualises everyone around them, it reveals something deeper than “a flirtatious personality.” It reveals a lack of haya. And an alarming lack of self-control. If they can’t interact with the opposite gender without inappropriate jokes or comments, that’s not harmless. That’s a major red flag. Islam teaches modesty in speech and conduct. Allah commands both men and women: “Tell the believers to lower their gaze and guard their modesty.” (Qur’an 24:30–31) Because where the gaze goes, the heart follows. The Prophet ﷺ also said: “Modesty brings nothing but good.” (Sahih Muslim) Someone who sexualises everyone around them is telling you that their desires lead their behaviour. And a spouse who cannot respect boundaries with the opposite gender outside the marriage will struggle to respect boundaries inside the marriage. And this never goes away.
