Turns out discipline looks really good on a woman. And discipline isn’t just a podcast bro’s game, it’s really just the promises you keep to yourself and learning to resist the thing that feels good right now because you know it’s not going to feel good later. And I think this matters so much in our 40s because by now, we know. We know what isn’t serving us anymore, we know the habits that make us feel like shit, the relationships or patterns we keep going back to, the things we consume, the ways we numb ourselves, the little choices we keep making even though we already know where they lead. And letting those things go is hard because a lot of them feel really good in the moment, but every time you resist that immediate pleasure and choose the woman you want to be tomorrow, or next year, or ten years from now, you build a little more trust in yourself. And I really believe that’s where confidence comes from. Not just liking what you see in the mirror, but knowing you can trust yourself, knowing you’re going to do what you said you were going to do, knowing you’re willing to make the harder choice now because you care about your future self that much. And the funny thing is, when you start living that way you start feeling better, you start carrying yourself differently, and yeah, you might even look better than you ever have. Maybe the glow-up in your 40s isn’t about trying to look younger at all, maybe it’s finally letting go of what you already know isn’t serving you and having the discipline to see just how good this version of you can get. #over40women
