We have zero control of what people think of us. We can try to surround ourselves with good people, but I've been in this situation. In-laws hated me because I wasn't Catholic ,but I still went to their church ,showing respect. It's horrible but so toxic..Just surround yourself with positive people and ignore the lies. ,remember the only person you can change is yourself.
