You've made this exact video before and said the car turning left has to make sure it's clear even if people run the red light 👀

unfortunately you are incorrect about the red van running the red light. Because you can not see the red vans light. you only see the POV light. the turning driver failed to make sure the path was clear for them to continue. for all we know, the red van still had a green light. Because we can not their light.

we can't see the vans light. we see the pov's light. you're making an assumption that the van had a red light.

Just because the light turned red facing us doesn’t mean it isn’t still green the other direction. They may have a protected green arrow.

Not clear to turn so turning car is at fault.

You missed the fact that the POV driver had a red light as well. The POV driver is mostly at fault a the van has some liability.

Yeah no. You've done this before. And this has played out in many courts. POV is at fault 99.9% of the time

You are assuming the van doesn’t still have a green light and that turn lane a green arrow…

As a vehicle safety training instructor, one of the points of emphasis in the curriculum is that you do not go when the light turns green - you go when it’s safe to go. This is not Formula 1, it’s not “lights out and away they go!”

You can’t assume the other side had matching lights. Very well could’ve been green and their left turn light came on

What if the oncoming cars retained a green light and had a green arrow (changed from yellow flashing to green?) just because the ongoing traffic light turned red, does not mean the oncoming light turned red as well.

But by the last clear chance doctrine the POV car should have known that van was not stopping and should have avoided the accident. You are all over the place with your videos sometimes. This one you’re saying the van is responsible but other videos that are in similar circumstances you blame the POV driver under the last clear chance.

This actually is incorrect. You have to ensure the way is clear. It was obvious that the van was not stopping. Also, some states of automatic liability (such as Indiana), for cross-traffic turn

I saw in Rhode Island and I could be wrong. At least that’s how it worked when I’m there yellow lights, oncoming, traffic stops, and left-hand turn drivers have the right away on a yellow light.

Uncommon L for Ugo on this one. You cannot assume the oncoming vehicles light is also turning red and the POV vehicle is obligated to make sure the path ahead is clear before turning.

But you don’t know if that side is also getting a red light. It could be the turn lane gets a green light and the POV car side is turning red. This is just half the story.

Couldn't the mini van driver argue they didn't have enough time to safely stop? Because in the video it does look like they didn't have enough time to safely stop
