My parents did this, but only when it came to things we wanted and snacks, not on food food or rent like that, but it was still good responsibly

I do this with realistic toy money and pretend restaurant bills for dinner when teaching them about money (primary school age) and have them calculate the payment and change etc.

If this is about Lauren the money she gives her kids doesn’t go towards food. That’s their personal allowance. She also gives them an additional amount so they can pick out any extra snacks or meals they want. And that’s ONTOP of fruits veggies homemade dinners takeouts. Not everyone is a bad parent bc they do things differently.
