A friend told me once, that people are often branches of life intertwining with one another. Each with a lesson to teach. Some stay, some go. Even if it’s for a few years, you may never see those people again. My friend who told me this, I’ve known for the last 4 years, and I’m pretty sure his cycle in my life has been fulfilled, as many others have also been. I think there’s peace in letting go, the memories will stay, as well as the lessons. Although we all have different lives, and different stories, I’m thankful for the part they played in mine.

With age, I've learned that friends for a season are there at the time for a reason. You may not speak anymore and they are no longer a part of your life, other than occasionally liking posts on social media. Sometimes we just grow out of friendships and they quietly slip away. No breakup or fights, or dramatic exits...just poof. Gone. It's okay. I will always look back on that time and smile.
