@coach.frizzle: The secret to a successful calorie deficit is not being in a calorie deficit This is not being a smart ass and telling you not to do one Its me telling you that you need to come out of your deficit in order to stay in one. Because if you want your metabolism to keep responding YOU need to give it something to respond to. This is why staying in maintenance long term does very little to benefit your metabolic health. Eating the same calories day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year - there's nothing for your metabolism to respond to If you plan to be in a deficit long term Also plan to come out of the deficit regularly Frizzle 💃 💪 🤙 #caloriedeficitgirls #lowcaloriehighprotein #tryingtoloseweight #fatlossdiet
I always eat more during my period week, does that count as a diet break?

3 weeks in deficit, 1 week in maintenance really helped me.

Its more like: If you already lost 10-15lbs, calculate your tdee again based on your new weight and movement. That will tell you if yo need to adjust your calorie deficit.

great tips - I was in 1200 calories for years and moving to 1800 gave me more energy to move and burn more calories

I usually go out to eat and eat whatever I want for that meal every 2-3 weeks. Not all day just 1 meal. Is that good

I lost 70 lbs recently. I was in a deficit for 5 days a week, 2 days closer to maintenance. when I met short term goals I would go into maintenance for a couple weeks then go back to deficit. 6 months later here I am down 70 lbs. I also shortened my walking time from 24 minutes to 13 minutes

now it makes sense, when I am in a defecit for a long time, then eat whatever I want for 1-3 days I gain a few lbs (of water weight/glycogen) then lose a bunch once i go back to my defecit. It's like a shock to my system 🤣 woww

Ive been on a deficite since january. Was doing 1200 for a month and then went to 1500. I do have days where I dont count and its once a week or so. Do I need to do more days to not end up with 1500 maintanace? My weight is still going down

Yes! I am calorie deficit during the week, then once on the weekends I splurge and my body drops weight. It’s a great mental break, because if I’m too austere all the time I eventually wind up rebelling against the whole thing and my work gets ruined.

My metabolism is fked. I was less hungry on 800 calories. (Extreme stress). Now I’m on 1500 all I think about is food. I have half a thyroid too. Work nights. Idk if that does anything

I was in a deficit for 12 months and lost weight for 49 of those 52 weeks. You absolutely MUST exercise daily, increasing the level of exertion to ensure continued weight loss. Weight training is key.

Not enough people talk about this. I lost 80 pounds over a year long deficit/cut (no breaks) and it wrecked my metabolism. It’s very crucial to have a solid reverse dieting plan ready to go to recover or you’ll be suffering at a low caloric intake for awhile. I was gaining weight at 2000 calories which should be significantly lower than my maintenance.

So what if the damage has already been done as you’ve been in a deficit for way too long and no longer seeing any changes, would this still help or how can it be reversed?
