This past year I have prioritized grand showings of love in this way: large bouquets of flowers for friends, baked goods, long letters to penpals across the country, sentimental packages to friends just because, art exchanges, etc. and it has changed my life. I feel like you can focus on yourself while still being part of a community/village. You don’t have to cut ties with every other human being on earth because part of becoming a capable human being is through social interactions. These interactions teach you more about yourself than being alone with yourself.

Call me dramatic, but this colleague that I REALLY find attractive insisted on getting coffee the other time we were on shift together. We grab coffee from a place I suggested and find a spot, next thing I know we were jumping from one topic to another, which is always the case when we meet, but every time feels different in a way. It was so satisfying to talk to someone so freely, unfiltered, and interactively. He was so happy with the quality of the coffee since he never tried that place, that is first 😂. We started from there then politics to economy to society to faith to personal journeys. It was only an hour but I left with a happy buzzing in my brain. Looking at us today, we almost forgot what are human interactions like.
