Sinbad played David Bryan, a single bachelor who becomes a foster father to two orphaned kids, and the show ran for one season before Fox cancelled it in April 1994 along with Roc, South Central, and In Living Color. Jesse Jackson called the cancellations institutional racism and organized a boycott of the network. Fox said it was about ratings.
