Okay Caraval changes gears quite a bit once you get to the second one. The main characters change and while yes it is still about Caraval it’s definitely a different experience and more centered around Legend and who Legend really is. Also you get Jacks introduced and if you plan on reading OUABH I recommend continuing at least to the second book to give more insight on Jacks and his past. Shatter Me the first book really just felt like the start of a book like it just sets everything up for more to happen in the future. I have only read to the third book but the second book is when it gets more eventful and stuff (you have to get like halfway through the second one) and the third one is like just a lot and way more interesting than the first two (in my opinion). Then ACOTAR…meh the second book was good and I like the characters and all but it wasn’t really my favorite, definitely not a need.

Im reading A court of mist and fury and im still not sold.. 200 pages in and it still hasn’t sucked me in.. I was starting to wonder if I was the only one out there who didn’t understand the hype for that series 👀

As someone who dnf ACOTAR the gave it a second chance i totally recommend reading through the series. If you don’t like ACOMAF then definitely don’t continue.

As someone who just finished the Shatter Me series (including the novellas), you are so right. It’s very YA not much character development, plot holes and storylines that go nowhere. Don’t listen to the people telling you to give it another shot. I could see where teenagers would loveeee it. Adults? No.
