@foodparables: Snack Pack Style Vanilla and Chocolate Pudding Stop buying the little plastic cups. Real pudding is milk, sugar, cornstarch, egg yolks, butter, and vanilla. That's it. Split the batch, bloom some cocoa, and you've got both flavors from one pot. 🍮🤝 📌 Today's Verse: "How happy is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who obtains understanding." Proverbs 3:13 CSB 👨🍳 Snack Pack Style Vanilla and Chocolate Pudding Servings: 6 to 8 cups Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 10 minutes Chill Time: 2+ hours Total Time: about 2 hours 20 minutes 🥣 Ingredients 720 ml whole milk (3 cups) 150 g granulated sugar (3/4 cup) 45 g cornstarch (5 tbsp) 1/2 tsp salt 4 large egg yolks 42 g unsalted butter (3 tbsp) 1 tbsp vanilla extract Chocolate Portion 12 g Dutch-process cocoa powder (2 tbsp) 25 g sugar (2 tbsp) 1 to 2 tbsp hot milk or cream 🥄 Instructions Off heat, whisk together sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a medium saucepan. Slowly whisk in milk until smooth, then whisk in egg yolks. Place over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a full boil with large slow bubbles. Continue cooking 60 to 90 seconds to fully activate the starch. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla until smooth. Ladle about 1 to 1 1/2 cups of hot pudding into a separate bowl for the chocolate portion. In a small bowl, whisk cocoa powder and sugar. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons hot milk or cream and whisk into a smooth paste. Add the reserved pudding and whisk until fully combined. Spoon vanilla and chocolate pudding into serving cups, layering as desired. Press plastic wrap directly onto the surface to prevent a skin. Refrigerate at least 2 hours. 💡 Pro Tip: Cook until fully boiling and hold it 60 to 90 seconds. If you pull it early the pudding won't set. #FoodParables #HomemadePudding #SnackPack #FromScratchCooking #CopycatRecipe #DessertTok #FoodTok #SnackPackPudding #HomemadePudding #ChocolatePudding #vanillapudding #PuddingRecipe #FromScratchCooking #EasyDessertRecipe #HomemadeDesserts #DessertIdeas #QuickDessert #LunchboxIdeas #NoBakeDesserts #BeginnerFriendlyRecipes #ComfortFoodRecipe #DessertTok #CookingFromScratch #EasyCookingIdeas #NostalgicFood #FoodParables #KitchenTipsAndTricks #BudgetFriendlyMeals #SimpleDessertRecipes #ClassicDesserts #DessertLovers

Yes! I make little snack packs for my kids- but use pure maple syrup instead of refined sugar. It is SO good.

I'm 57, 1 of the best things my mom made when I was a kid was "cornstarch pudding". No pudding compares to homemade. Thanks for this!
