As a florist that has been doing this for a while. Right now it’s the toughest to stay afloat. Competing against big corporations that get their flowers for Pennie’s while we pay for tariffs , expensive prices is hard right now now. I’m Considering closing atm with how hard the economy is and I keep getting compared to “my Walmart sells these at” . People don’t realize there is so much art behind this … I’m tired . So with love get your degree.

I also have a passion for floral. I started my business in high school, but I am in college right now for my business administration degree because it’s always good to have for backup just in case and you learn stuff about marketing and networking, especially when you’re running your own business.

i am a florist but am getting my degree in engineering i’d highly highly suggest finishing college being a florist as a side job is amazing but it wouldn’t make enough money to sustain u unless ur a super well known wedding florist who’s constantly booked out

As a florist, I highly recommend you get a marketing, accounting or business degree. First, because being a florist in this economy is poverty level, and second, because when you do have the opportunity to be a florist, you'll have the business knowledge to back up design knowledge. I only play with pretty flowers for about 30% of my day. The rest is back office, paperwork, legal and financial stuff.
