Not entirely true. Many of the materials have spirits attached to them. Some plants have spirits that govern the entire species. Also tangible materials help spirits to attach to the material world. Even rising smoke can shift the vibrations in the air to make it more agreeable to the spirit hence why certain herbs are ascribed to certain spirits. If you're using such materials just for manifestation spellwork, then your point is valid. But there's much more you're leaving out.

i agree to some extent, the natural materials do have inherent power and correspondences within them but it's your job to awaken it and program it to the ritual you are completing, the more correspondences you are working with the more layered and detailed your working becomes and you are therefore working with more inherent energy. but if you don't know what your intention is or how to manipulate energy using a bunch of tools and herbs and stuff is useless

right, it's meant to help guide the experience though. you don't have to have it, but it sure does help to have physical things and scents and lighting to reinforce and amplify that energy

My brain doesn’t brain right, I need to ground myself, focus on each ingredient, focus my intent, write a little journal entry. It’s like therapy! It works for some, I’m sure others don’t need it at all… but it helps me with my goals 🥰

No. it isn't. It's psychology and mirroring expansion. I do both big and small... but it's absolutely not for aesthetics. The energy of beauty unlocks a part of our mind and helps us calibrate and understand give or intake more energy. I'm also not willing to shrink my craft for other people's comfort.

i don’t think it can be reduced to just for aesthetics. the ingredients are the conduit for people to tap into their energy and intent. conduits are extremely important as not everyone’s mind works the same way
