If yall truly want the job you will learn how to finesse! This is coming from someone who has had a wide range of position’s, even when I did not have the exact experience for the positions I had equivalent experience and aced the interviews starting with how my skills align with the role.

So on the resume; do you shorten your work experience (ie change dates)? Or do you list the exact years of experience in your professional summary the employer wants vs. the actual years of experience you have?

I’ve been out of the workforce for about 12 years—my last job was at 19 as a waitress—and I’m really trying to find my way back into a career. I once did this but it seemed to backfire. It was a lateral move and they were asking for 5 years which I had 7 - said I had 5. 2 years later, was overlooked for a manager role because I didn’t have the years of experience but I did😂 they created another role to promote me which was a junior manager role and not the manager role I wanted and worked very
