My mother doesn’t understand how tik tok works and that this is just a stitch. I didn’t feel like trying to find this woman’s video to comment this. But she asked me to comment this for her. Keep in mind, she is a baby boomer with a non-binary child (me). I think most people regardless of age, gender, sexuality, or religion should take a page out of her book. “I am a 61 year old Jesus loving Christian girl. I have an issue not with the fact that you don’t want to call someone what they’ve asked you to call them by. My issue is that is shows a lack of Christian love and respect. So if you’ve said this because you think that God would hate someone who goes by they them pronouns, then I would say to you- read the word for yourself. And ask yourself what would Jesus have done.”

At the end of the day, many people have preferred names. Some people prefer a different name, some prefer a nickname, some prefer a last name and we all accept that. Why can't we accept a preferred pronoun?

Well said and well broken down! I’m cis and straight, but I still support LGBTQIA+ people and like to bring up these points when having discussions about it because there’s so much info that people don’t know. As someone who isn’t in the community, I had to go out of my way to educate myself on these topics and feel like it benefits all of us to talk about it. Even if it’s being said by straight cis allies such as myself.

I’m honestly so relieved I stumbled upon this stitch because i was so disappointed by the comments under the original video. The LBGTQ+ community should be a community to lift each other up no matter their pronouns, identity or sexuality. Not tearing others down just because they identify something “different” than others.
