Happened to me once came all the way from Michigan to Miami and get there for them to tell me that load had been canceled weeks ago and broker expected me to take it all the way back to Michigan

This happen to me with a reefer load. I got the whole amount of the rate con but it took me almost 6 months to get the money I hired a company to go after them for collections and my cut 4500 the collection company got 1000. My driver had already drove 550 miles and had to turn around from tx to nj

Yes, broker in my case paid me full rate and extra Sense I was loaded and rolling already. Once you drive off esp 60 miles out you get paid whats on the rate con even if you have to bring it back. Technically you can charge extra for having to turn around.

Yeah it happens every once in a while. The worst is when the receiver tells you the load was cancelled when you get there to unload.

You should have never taken that load back until you got an updated RC with the rate you wanted for their cancellation and if they didn’t want to pay then you should have made them get a carrier to trans load the freight

We have had this done before. Except the broker didn’t cancel. Our driver called and was letting receiver know we would be there to deliver on x day and time and the receiver said oh the beams and he was like no roof material. They said oh we don’t have room for the idk who ordered that but we can’t take it. Ended up taking the load back. Only got 250 but we didn’t catch it within 15-20 mins after driver left shipper.

As a freight broker, I would’ve went back to the client for the extra money to make sure yall got paid. I honestly would’ve told the client the truck is already gone and headed there. lol turning around is crazy. I hate poor communication 😭

Something like this happens to me but was different I book a load and when I was on way to pick up the broker cancel it without letting me know I get to the ship and they load me something I didn’t know the broker was already booked the load with someone 4 hours later the broker called me and he was like why did you pick up the load and he had to put me back on the load I’m not going back
