I've never been on a vacation or flown anywhere, l can afford to, but l can't see spending 4 or 5,000 on a weeks vacation, plus losing a weeks pay, that's a thousand bucks a day to me, I guess l should, lm 71 and running out of time !

In 15 years we spent over $200k on holidays with our two kids going to WDW once or twice a year. They are now older. These are experiences I’ll never regret and so grateful that we did them when we could as a family.

we are 64 and 68. Husband is younger. I'm retiring next week. We have a paid off small lakefront ranch house. Not counting our house we have 1.9 million. We never graduate college, have never had a good income. We have just lived below our means for 40 years. We have never traveled, never been east or west. We live in Michigan. We do have 4 little dogs. Husband is working 2 more years. I said today, when you retire let's go to Yellowstone and Grand Canyon. It's just hard to spend when you have saved all your life. We do take kids and grandkids to an Airbnb every summer for 5 days. That's our big splurge...lol.
