@pocket.psychologist: Your brain isn’t the problem. Your nervous system just thinks you’re not safe. So it speeds up. Loops. Overthinks everything. These “quirky” hacks all do one thing: 👉 they signal safety to your body. 🧠 Name your brain → distance from thoughts 🍋 Bite a lemon → interrupt the loop 🧊 Cold/ice → rapid reset 🕶️ Move in slow motion → slow the stress response 🐝 Hum → activate calm 🥄 Name boring objects → anchor to the present 🍬 Chew gum → signal safety 🫨 Shake, then stop → release tension 🌯 Burrito wrap → create containment 🦶 Feet on ground → ground yourself When your body feels safe… your brain follows. Clearer thoughts. Less spiralling. More control. You don’t need to think your way out. You need to regulate your way out. If you want simple, practical tools like this that actually work when you’re overwhelmed 🔗 My mini course is in the link in my bio.
great tips, but why are the cards different suits?! i cannot handle this 😭

An old favourite of mine. Stand in a room by yourself and start saying your name repeatedly at a steady pace (no hurry). Do this for up to ten minutes or so, and suddenly (while you're calling your name) out of nowhere your brain will disengage and it will sound like one of your parents is calling you from another room. The reason behind this is because apparently the sound of our voices are made up from the sound of our parents voices, we literally copy them. Can be exceptionally spooky if your parents have passed away.

I paused the video at number one, loving the idea of naming my brain to get some distance. I wanted something from my generation but nobody I knew. I picked Janet. So now when it spirals around my ex-husband, I can say “dammit Janet!” which will make me smile and change the entire interaction.

I love number one. I like to separate me from my brain. "it's okay brain, you're safe brain, you're trying to keep me safe brain but I can and will do this, it will make you feel better".

I really love your stuff. I share it constantly. Use it too. It REALLY works! Thank you SO MUCH! I've named by brain today: 'Carmen ... de Tangle' : because she gets me all in a tangle, she is like a the Opera Carmen - my life is like a Opera- dramatic and REALLY stresses me out. ( I love everything Spanish you see) lol 😂😂😂💥🔥♥️... but when 'Carmen ' works- she gives me absolute joy, passion for life and radically changes my perspective and mood..
