@ebeebiebby: This one says a lot about how we see relationships today. A simple image of a couple with a beautiful garden, then later just the man standing there alone. The caption says she took the colour with her. Someone else adds that she took her “free domestic effort” with her. And just like that, something emotional becomes a debate. Because what are we actually looking at here. Is it labour, or is it love. Is it obligation, or is it passion. A garden like that doesn’t just grow from duty. It grows from care, time, and shared life. People online are quick to turn everything into sides. Men versus women. Who did more. Who owed more. Who gave more. But real relationships don’t work like that. They are built on different strengths, different contributions, and different forms of value. Sometimes one person brings beauty. Sometimes the other brings stability. Sometimes both bring everything in different ways. And when one is gone, of course things change. Not because someone was being used, but because something meaningful is missing. Turning moments like this into arguments misses the point completely. The truth is simple. Healthy homes need both. Different roles, different strengths, but shared purpose. What do you see when you look at this. Loss or labour. #Relationships #Marriage #Love #ModernDating #realtalk

Sarah Kate :
Of course it wouldn’t have because you’re a man and most men assume they don’t take advantage of women but you all do it.

I mean, it's true though. All those years, she contributed to and maintained that garden. When she left, he didn't continue that work. And that doesn't have to be something negative. Maybe she loved gardening, maybe he had hayfever and supported her anyways, maybe she asked to let the garden die with her. We don't know. But it's important to recognise her hard work and unpaid labour

You can tell from the photo it was two separate seasons. He’s wearing a coat means it’s cold still.

The photo is like a metaphor. She obviously wasn’t there anymore, likely because she passed and the garden is how he feels without her.

It’s almost like it’s harder to maintain a garden when your partner dies

What baffles me is that people just assume that she did this for him as opposed to just liking it herself? My wife has decorations all over. I've never asked her to do this and she enjoys making them. Not everything is a battle.

I'm reminded often of something, "The only assumption that is fair to make of anyone is thier doing the best that can with what they have." People are making a lot of assumptions from 2 still moments in someone's life they've never known. The assumptions we make of others says more about ourselves than the people we draw those assumptions about. is it possible he was exploitive? Sure. Is it possible he's fallen into depression after the loss of someone he truly loved? Sure. Another possibility is they sold the home sometime before and was passing through and wanted a picture in front of the old home. We'll never know
