#Valko || Deleting a whole ahh character after reportedly spending around two years developing him because of some backlash from a vocal minority sets a terrible precedent. He wasn’t a last-minute concept. He had already been established as a character in some ways or another for months now, and was now promoted as an upcoming love interest. A huge part of the playerbase was actually excited to meet him. I’ve been playing Lads since day one. I’ve seen other characters receive massive backlash before, especially Caleb, because many players were uncomfortable with the relationship dynamic between him and mc. Despite that, the developers didn’t remove him or rewrite his story. They stood by their creative direction. What frustrates me even more is that Inflop has ignored so many long-standing issues that players have been asking them to address for months now. We still have the lighting issues, the lack of resources for f2p players, the awful schedules, and the lack of content for both Caleb and Sylus. Instead, they responded to this controversy by deleting a character rather than addressing the problems the community has actually been raising. Many players have been waiting a long time for MS updates, only for those updates to suddenly be announced after this backlash. It all just feels like shit damage control. Meanwhile, development resources continue to go toward features that many players never asked for, while core gameplay issues remain unresolved. Personally, I barely touch the home feature because it simply isn’t engaging, and many recent event stories haven’t been compelling enough to make me excited even if I could afford to pull for them. That’s what makes this so frustrating. There are so many genuine issues that have been ignored for months, yet one controversy appears to have resulted in an entire character being removed after years of development. Deleting a character doesn’t solve the game’s problems. It just leaves players with less content, less confidence in the developers, and more uncertainty about the future of the game. So it’s safe to say I’ve deleted the game :) This will most likely be my last lads edit because I don’t want to promote a company that makes decisions like this. But who knows, maybe I will still make some edits here and there just to appreciate the characters I’ve loved for so long… Thank you to everyone who enjoyed my edits untill now.
