I’m so fed up with the ship wars. As long as Leon is happy and has a “home to go to,”that works for me. After all the chaos he deals with, he needs someone who brings him peace and helps him if not forget, cope with it all. Someone who makes him a rescuer and not a fighter. I personally consider Claire as that person and If not, it’s very acceptable for that “home” not to mean a love interest at all. It might simply be the people who have gone through the same things as Leon. People, who share his trauma and find a unique sense of understanding in one another. Maybe that’s what the “ring”everyone is arguing about actually represents. a promise to reconnect after the nightmare is over. It’s a promise to reunite, a promise that offers peace and a reason to leave the past behind but never forget the reason they became rescuers and fighters is because of that same exact past.

I love Leon but I can't romanticize him, I feel sad for him. Especially him at Kendo part in RE2. I love him like a good friend who has been through a lot. I wish they could just give him more vulnerable lines rather than cheesy dad jokes.

Guys what I said applies to Grace, because people make fun of her anxiety and traumas in the same way. Grace does a very good job despite all the trauma, and Leon actually sees himself in Grace. The fact that Grace is made fun of and bullied so much shows how outsiders people are looking at the story.
