I had a bench warrant for driving my boyfriend's car that didn't have insurance and I got a ticket. I had to pay it and the clerk said it was paid off but $41 was left. A cop pulled me over and cherries right as I pulled out of a gas station as soon as I turned my headlights on. They saw it and said no biggie, well run you and all is well. Didn't know a YEAR later I owed $41. I cried being put in cuffs and spent a night in jail but at no point I was mad at them. I cried the entire way, and in the holding cell thinking it was a mistake. I was mad at the system who knew my cell, mailing address, and employment who never let me know. ACAB but this is such victim bullshit.
